BIOGRAPHY
Diana Vickers is a student from Blackburn, Lancashire and has been singing since the age of 11. She has taken singing lessons and has participated in local competitions, but has never sung professionally. On her first live show Vickers sang U2's "With or Without You". The judges' responses were mostly positive (with Louis Walsh commenting "You are the one to beat!" and Simon Cowell saying "You either love it or hate it [...] I loved it!"). On the show on the 18th she covered Michael Jackson's "Man in the Mirror" for which she received nothing but praise, with Dannii Minogue describing it as 'box fresh', and Simon now saying that she is 'The one to beat.' Following the second live show, she emerged as the favourite for overall victory, proving popular with both pundits and fans alike. Diana stayed the bookies favourite for weeks on end, despite missing a week due to laryngitis. It wasn't until Diana performed Not A Girl Not Yet A Woman that Alexandra had taken over as favourite. Despite coming fourth, Diana landed a 1million recording contract with RCA Records.
In July 2009, it was announced that Diana would star in the title of role of The Rise & Fall Of Little Voice in the West End, which meant that she would have to delay album plans. This was done, and Diana completed a four month stint in the West End of London.
31st January 2010 saw the official premiere of Diana's debut single Once on BBC Radio 1, to rave reviews. The single is scheduled to be released 19th April, with the album, Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree, on 4th May 2010.
